KIDS STORY: Love One Another - A Story of Kindness (Romans 12:10)

Todays story is titled: "Love One Another: A Story of Kindness",

Scripture: Romans 12:10,

Once upon a time in a small village

In a sunny little village, there lived two best friends named Lily and Ben. They loved playing together every day after school. They would climb trees, ride their bikes, and share snacks. But the most important thing they did together was help others.

One day, while playing in the park, they saw Mrs. Thompson, an elderly lady from their neighborhood, struggling to carry her heavy grocery bags. She looked tired, and Lily’s heart filled with compassion. “We should help her!” she exclaimed.

Ben nodded eagerly. “Yes! Let’s be kind and show her love!”

"A Helping Hand"!

Lily and Ben ran over to Mrs. Thompson. “Can we help you with those bags?” Ben asked with a big smile. Mrs. Thompson’s face lit up. “Oh, thank you, dear children! You’re so kind!” 

They took the bags from her hands and walked together, chatting and laughing along the way. When they reached her home, Mrs. Thompson invited them inside. “Would you like some cookies for your kindness?” she offered. The children cheered, “Yes, please!”

As they enjoyed the delicious cookies, Mrs. Thompson shared stories from when she was a little girl. Lily and Ben listened eagerly, enjoying her tales and feeling happy to have brightened her day.

"The Power of Love"!

After their snack, they waved goodbye to Mrs. Thompson and headed back to the park. “That felt great! Helping her was fun!” Lily said. 

Ben agreed. “And it reminded me of what we learned in Sunday school—Romans 12:10 says, ‘Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.’ Helping others is a way to show that love!”

From that day on, Lily and Ben decided to make it their mission to help someone every week. They helped clean up the park, brought flowers to the sick, and even read stories to younger kids at the library. Each time, they felt their hearts grow bigger with love.

"Sharing Love Everywhere"!

One afternoon, while picking up trash in the park, they noticed a new girl sitting alone on a bench. She looked sad. Lily whispered to Ben, “Let’s go talk to her.” They approached the girl and introduced themselves.

“Hi! I’m Lily, and this is Ben. Do you want to play with us?” the girl looked surprised. “Really? I would love that!” she said with a smile.

As they played together, the girl shared that her name was Candice and that she had just moved to the village. Lily and Ben made sure to include her in everything, showing her the fun spots in the park and making her laugh.

"A Friendship Blossoms"!

Over time, Candice became part of their friendship group. They spent many happy days together, always encouraging one another and sharing kindness, just as the Bible teaches. 

One evening, while they were playing, they all sat together under a big tree. “I love how we help each other,” Candice said. “It makes me feel special.”

Ben smiled and replied, “That’s what friends are for! We can honor each other and make everyone feel loved!”

Lily added, “And that’s what God wants us to do! When we love one another, we make the world a happier place!”

From that day forward, Lily, Ben, and Candice continued to spread love and kindness throughout their village, reminding everyone that showing love to one another is one of the best things we can do. 

And so, they lived happily, sharing love and joy everywhere they went, just as Romans 12:10 teaches us to do!
