Todays story is called:
"Simeon's Special Day at the Temple".
Bible passage:
Luke Chapter 2 Verses 25 to 35.
My name is Simeon, and I want to tell you about a very special day in my life. It happened a long time ago in a place called Jerusalem, at the Temple where I loved to go and pray.
You see, God had promised me that I would not die until I had seen the Messiah, the Savior, who would bring joy and salvation to all people. Every day, I prayed and watched, hoping to see this wonderful child.
One day, the Holy Spirit told me to go to the Temple. I felt so excited! I didn't know why, but I knew something amazing was about to happen. As I walked into the Temple, I saw a young couple with a baby. The couple was Mary and Joseph, and they were there to dedicate their baby to God, just like the law in Exodus 13:2 says.
When I saw the baby, my heart leaped with joy. The Holy Spirit whispered to me, "This is the One, Simeon! This is the Messiah!" I went up to Mary and Joseph, and they allowed me to hold the baby. I looked into His eyes and felt a deep peace and happiness.
With tears of joy, I praised God and said, "Lord, now You are letting Your servant depart in peace, according to Your word; for my eyes have seen Your salvation, which You have prepared before the face of all peoples, a light to bring revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of Your people Israel."
Mary and Joseph were amazed at what I said. I blessed them and told Mary, "This child is destined for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign which will be spoken against. And a sword will pierce through your own soul also, that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed."
That day, I knew that God's promise had been fulfilled. I had seen the Savior, and my heart was filled with peace and joy.
So, what have we learned today?
Simeon's story reminds us that God always keeps His promises. Simeon waited patiently and trusted God, and his faith was rewarded when he saw Jesus, the Savior. Just like Simeon, we can trust that God will fulfill His promises to us.
So, how can we apply what we learned into our life?
(1). "Trust in God!:
Just as Simeon trusted God’s promise, we can trust that God will take care of us and keep His promises.
(2). "Patience!:
Simeon waited a long time to see Jesus. We learn that being patient and waiting for God's timing is important.
(3). "Joy in Jesus!:
Simeon found great joy in seeing Jesus. We can also find joy in knowing Jesus and following Him.
Let us pray!
Dear God,
Thank You for keeping Your promises and sending Jesus to be our Savior. Help us to trust You and be patient like Simeon. Fill our hearts with joy and peace as we follow Jesus. Thank You for loving us so much.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Thank you forlistening.
May God bless you!
